INTERPOL and UNICEF have signed a cooperation agreement to better combat child sexual abuse on the Internet. The corresponding agreement was recently signed by INTERPOL Secretary General Prof. Dr. Jürgen Stock and UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell.
The aim is to provide even better support to national governments in combating and preventing child sexual abuse. In concrete terms, both organisations want to support the states, among other things, in setting up special investigation units against this criminal phenomenon. Where such teams already exist, their effectiveness is to be increased. In addition, the training and further education of investigators is to be improved. Furthermore, an improvement of the cooperation between the different actors is planned.
