Police officers in Saxony-Anhalt will also be equipped with body cameras in the future. The first forces to be equipped are those of the Stendal police station and the police college in Aschersleben. The other stations are to follow successively.
Video management software is also being introduced. With it, digital evidence can be managed. This means that the recorded videos can be automatically saved and archived with the time, date and place as well as the manually added operation data. The technology can be integrated into existing police systems. The Motorola Solutions bodycams are very robust and have a maximum battery life of twelve hours. They are also equipped with a pre-recording function. This allows events to be documented up to two minutes before the manual recording start. The devices can also be equipped with different sensors. These would, for example, trigger a recording as soon as the service weapon is drawn.
