"Es gibt Verrückte in der Bundesrepublik", betonte jüngst Jörg Ziercke, Präsident des Bundeskriminalamtes (BKA). Tatsächlich seien 125 Gefährder und 280 relevante Personen den deutschen Sicherheitsbehörden bekannt. Von diesen 280 hätten 110 eine terroristische Ausbildung im Ausland erhalten. Zudem könne man 40 Personen den rund 16 unterschiedlichen Terrororganisationen in Deutschland zurechnen. Rund 1.000 Personen stünden in Deutschland in Verbindung zu den Terrornetzwerken. Darunter befände sich allerdings nur ein kleinerer Teil Konvertiten. Von diesen Personen werde das Internet intensiv auch zur Selbst-Radikalisierung genutzt. "Das Internet ist mit seinen rund 5.000 islamitischen Websites weltweit für Terroristen zu einer Fern-Universität geworden", so Ziercke.
Auch in diesem Jahr sind auf dem Europäischen Polizeikongress wieder hochkarätige Referenten aus dem In- und Ausland vertreten, so unter anderem Bernd Rossbach, Executive Director for Police Services, INTERPOL, Michel Quille, Stellvertretender Direktor und Leiter der Abteilung Operationen, EUROPOL, Heinz Fromm, Präsident des Bundesamtes für Verfassungsschutz (BfV), Peter Gridling, Direktor des Bundesamt für Verfassungsschutz und Terrorismusbekämpfung Österreich and Gilles de Kerchove, EU Anti-Terrorismus Koordinator des Rates der Europäischen Union. Zahlreiche weitere deutsche, europäische und internationale Sicherheitsexperten sowie sieben Landesinnenminister bestreiten das Hauptprogramm.
Der Europäische Polizeikongress
Die Kongressreihe „Europäischer Polizeikongress“ ist eine international ausgerichtete Fachkonferenz, die sich als Informationsplattform für Polizeien, Sicherheits- und zivile Behörden versteht. Sie ist die größte internationale Fachkonferenz für Innere Sicherheit in der Europäischen Union. Jedes Jahr ist die Konferenz über zwei Tage ein Treffpunkt für rund 1.600 Teilnehmer aus über 50 Nationen. Aus europäischen Ländern und Gaststaaten nehmen Vertreter der Kriminal- und Schutzpolizeien, der Grenzpolizeien, der Sicherheits- und Nachrichtendienste sowie der Regierungen und Parlamente teil.

Bitte beachten: Aus Sicherheitsgründen wird am Eingang des Berliner Congress Center eine Einlasskontrolle des Veranstalters durchgeführt. Die Teilnahme am 15. Europäischen Polizeikongress ist nur unter Vorlage eines gültigen Presseausweises und eines gültigen Personalausweises/ID-Card möglich. Die Daten werden nach Ablauf der Veranstaltung gelöscht. Die Teilnahme an den Fachforen ist grundsätzlich nicht öffentlich.

"There are crazy people living among us", said Jörg Ziercke, president of the German Federal Criminal Police (Bundeskriminalamt) just some time shy. Actually, he counted 125 precarious and 280 relevant persons to be known by the German security authorities. 110 of those 280 are known to have been trained in terror camps abroad. 40 persons are identified as members in one of the 16 different organizations or cells operating in or from Germany. But about 1.000 persons in Germany have different kind of connections to terroristic organizations. Among those only a small number is counted of converts.
Those people get radicalized by the means of the digital world. "About 5.000 websites have turned the Internet to a distance university of terrorism", said Ziercke.
Like the years before, many high ranking speakers from Germany and abroad will participate at the European Police Congress, for example Bernd Rossbach, Executive Director for Police Services, INTERPOL,Michel Quille, Deputy Director and Head of EUROPOL's Operations Department, Heinz Fromm, President of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, Peter Gridling, Director of the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Counter-Terrorism in Austria and Gilles de Kerchove, EU Counter-terrorism coordinator at the Council of the European Union. Numerous German and International security experts and several Ministers of the Interior from German states will enrich the main programme. In the panel sessions, besides the different forms of terrorism, the security in European traffic, Police missions abroad, Intelligent Borders and Police cooperations in Europe will be discussed.
European Police Congress
The European Police Congress is the leading conference for internal security in the European Union. Annually the conference is a meeting place for up to 1.600 experts representing at least 50 countries. Experts and representatives of polices, border polices, secret services as well as governments, parliaments and industries participate in the conference.
